During Bon Scott's tenure as the frontman of AC/DC, he was the guiding force - - the "older brother" to Angus and Malcolm Young, introducing them to the wild lifestyle he sang about in classics like "The Jack" and "Whole Lotta Rosie." He was truly an original and lived his life to the absolute fullest, until his unfortunate death in February, 1980. Ironically, Bon's death coincided with AD/DC's rise in popularity, with many new fans only being introduced to the band via their tribute album Back In Black, featuring new singer Brian Johnson. Unfortunately, many fans never really knew the impact that Bon had on the world of rock until this testament, Bonfire, was released in 1997.
Lovingly assembled by the members of AC/DC, Bonfire is a collection of rarities, outtakes, and the complete live show featured in the film, "Let There Be Rock" - - recorded just months before Bon's death. It also comes full circle, by including the full Back In Black album, the original tribute to the fallen frontman.
