Thirty-city trek kicks off Aug. 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Australian hard-rockers AC/DC will begin in August their first North American tour since 1996. Kicking off Aug. 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich., the 30-city trek will hit New York, Houston and Los Angeles before concluding Sept. 23 in San Jose, Calif.

AC/DC's new single, "Satellite Blues," debuted at #34 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart this week. The song is off February's Stiff Upper Lip, which also includes the hit title track (RealAudio excerpt).

Considered a return to form, the album finds the Aussies exploring less a metal sound and more of a primitive rock and blues style. The band formed in 1973 and has released such classic albums as 1976's High Voltage and 1980's Back in Black.
