Ok folks, we've announced some exciting news before, but today we're outdoing ourselves. Man, we MUST love you guys! There is a lot of crazy stuff happening this week, so we'll get right to it.
#1 Listening Party For those of you who still haven't bought Stiff Upper Lip (yes, we know there's still a couple of ya) we're giving you the chance to listen to it for free. Starting Saturday morning, http://www.instavid.com/acdc will stream the album in its entirety.
#2 AC/DC Chat Hold on to your hats Rock and Roll fans! Angus and Malcolm Young of AC/DC will chat live with real fans on Monday March 19th at 8:00PM EST on WWW.MSN.COM. Yes, you read that correctly. The brothers will answer your questions, thanks to ol' Bill Gates!
#3 Tour Info By now, you should know all about second leg of the Stiff Upper Lip tour. It IS, after all, their fastest-selling tour ever and it kicks off in Sunday, March 18 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. If you haven't already bought your tickets, then you're probably S.O.L. cause those tickets disappeared faster than a teenage girl's virginity on prom night. Moving on.
#4 Angus Army If you haven't heard about the Angus Army, then you haven't turned on the radio lately. This is ONLY the formation of the most formidable rock & roll fighting force anywhere! Participating radio stations in tour cities are drafting AC/DC contest winners into the Angus Army, outfitting them in an Angus Army regulation uniform (that is, Angus' schoolboy suit), and transporting them on the Angus Army bus to spread the word around town about the world's greatest rock band. Visit http://www.AngusArmy.com for more info.
#4.1 Angus Army Mobilizes! Now for those fans that aren't near a tour city, we haven't forgotten about you. We've been reading the AC/DC message boards and we know that several of you Angus Army members are planning to dress in full schoolboy gear and meet at New York City's Times Square in front of MTV's TRL Monday March 19th to show all those damn boy bands exactly who is boss. Of course, we can't encourage this type of action, but we can let you know that you won't be alone, and we plan to take pictures for the Website.
Of course, if you DO happen to be in New York on the 19th, we can't say that we also wouldn't love to see how many Angus Army members can fit in front of NBC's The Today Show's window.
As always, feel free to talk amongst yourselves on our message board. http://discussions.elektra.com/wm-acdc (Message board member ROCKINGANGUS usually keeps us pretty entertained!)
#5 No Bull DVD Not only was AC/DC recently certified by the R.I.A.A. as the 5th best selling band of all time having sold in excess of 63,000,000 albums in the U.S., they also have a new DVD in stores now. The No Bull DVD features twenty songs spanning their 25-year career, plus some goodies not available on the original VHS release. Watch Angus and AC/DC demonstrate the true meaning of "cojones" in their concert video No Bull, recorded in a Madrid bullring in 1996. Angus Young don't need no stinkin' red cape to get fired up in front of a packed house of fist-waving Spaniards. Just give him a guitar, and he's ready to charge.
