With the second single from its "Stiff Upper Lip" hitting rock radio, AC/DC is finally ready to promote the album the best way it knows how... with a big-ass tour.
It's been three months since the hard rock mainstays delivered their latest effort to stores, and the band has finally firmed up plans for a U.S. tour that kicks off on August 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and rolls well into late September.
Speaking with MTV News earlier this year, the band was cagey about its plans for the road and its larger-than-life stage show, but frontman Brian Johnson noted, "We'll always try to think of something, but as long as it has to do with the song or the theme of the show, like the bell for 'Hells Bells, the cannon for 'For Those About To Rock,' for 'Ballbreaker,' the big wreckin' ball. It always has something to do with [the song]. But I doubt we'd ever put something in just for the sake of it. This time, we'll obviously try to do something concerning the whole aspect of the album, or a song that we're featuring."
"We do try to get a balance," guitarist Angus Young added. "For us, the most important thing is the music side of it, but we always try. We know that the people like to see some visual things too. We try to find something good for the eyes, you know."
"A couple of strippers," Johnson joked.
